The first day saw the initial rounds being held, with four teams advancing to the semi-finals. Vidhyavardhini’s College of Engineering (VCET) fielded two teams, which contested the final. VCET (A) triumphed against VCET (B) in what was a heated match.
The success of the box cricket tournament set the tone for the Cricket season ball event, which commenced on the 5th of February. The draw comprised of 10 teams, and after 7 days of competition, the finals were set with Rizvi College of Engineering squaring off against SIES. SIES was coming off victories over the host (SPIT) in the first round and Thakur College in the semifinals, while Rizvi had conquered Atharva College of Engineering in the other semi-finals. The students of Rizvi impressed with a stellar performance in the final, to clinch the title. The organizers were pleased with the positive feedback of the participants.
