Being the first offline event our First-year students attended there was a certain air of excitement and enthusiasm surrounding it.
Before the actual event there were 2 pre-events conducted on online platforms:
First event: Guess the location.
Second event: Picture prompt challenge.
The winners of these events were rewarded with power cards that aided in their hunt across Mumbai.
The reporting time for the event was 7:30 am. Prior to the actual commencement of the event, participants experienced a visual and aural treat as FEs and SEs showed off their enthusiasm.
All the participants were provided snack boxes before the event and were asked to follow the given rules:
- No private transportation was allowed.
- Any sort of cheating if caught would result in disqualification of the team.
- The decision of the organizing committee would be final in case of any dispute.
For the hunt, every team had to download the “Kahoot” app. It essentially had all information regarding clues, location and leaderboard (can see the ranks of all teams). A hint revealing extra information would be available in the Kahoot app after receiving the clue for 40 points. Or 50 points could be used to unlock it instantly. Another hint would be available 10 minutes later after receiving the clue for 60 points. Or for 75 points to unlock it instantly. In total each team had to unlock a total of 15 clues in order to reach the destination to win.
The event started with its very first clue at exactly 10:10 am and ended at approximately 3 pm. However, the number of active participants kept becoming less as the gap between the top 10 teams and the rest was being shown on the leaderboard of the Kahoot app.
THE TOP THREE TEAMS WERE:
- The first position holding team was “Druv and Rishi“. They won a cash prize of 10,000 rupees.
- The second position holding team was “Nidhi and Janhavi”. They won a cash prize of 5,000 rupees.
- The third position holding team was “Pranati and Aayush”. They won a cash prize of 3,000 rupees.
The event for very fun and mesmerizing as it was the first offline event and moreover the students were able to move around Mumbai city from ‘Andheri to Azad maidan’. After an online mode of education, they were able to meet their classmates and friends for the very first time.
