What is first year in college without a splendid fresher’s night?
The newest members of the college were welcomed with a bang at the Fresher’s Party organized by the Student Council in collaboration with Oculus on 9th October,2019.
After a long, tiring day in college , the Quadrangle roared to life as the students gathered with enthusiasm and excitement, eagerly waiting to see what was in store for them. In spite of some rain , their spirits were not dampened. A sensational dance in the form of a flash-mob performance by the members of Oculus ,Student Council and MUDRA left the crowd cheering and applauding with thrill.Their electrifying moves left the mob enthralled and pumped them up for the gala night ahead.
As soon as the rain subsided, the event continued in its full splendor. It kick started with the Mr and Ms Fresher competition giving the freshers, a chance to display their talent. The esteemed panel of judges included Mr.Sagar Rana, a professional dancer and choreographer, and Mr.Rohit Salian, a renowned rapper. Fantastic performances ranging from music, dance, monologue and standup comedy left the audience in awe and the judges muddled. Manish Jha ,an MCA student, whose rap had the audience tap their feet to his beat ,was crowned “Mr Fresher” and Sayali Ayre,from the ETRX department, whose graceful dance sent the audience into a frenzy bagged the title of “Ms Fresher“.
“It was one of the most incredible nights and the event was very well managed by the seniors .With such a toughcompetitionaround, it was absolute honor to be crowned as ‘Ms Fresher’,” said Sayali Ayre.
Next in the line was the most awaited event of the night : the Dance Competition between the five branches. The IT dance troupe set the stage on fire with their dance moves. The MCA department had a blend of salsa with freestyle leaving the audience spell bound. The EXTC dance troupe raised the heat of the competition by their energetic dance moves. The ETRX department charmed the audience with their lively moves. The dance group from Computer department left the audience in splits and entertained them through the humor incorporated in their performance. And finally , after a neck-to-neck round of amazing performances , the Computers department took home the Fresher’s Cup.
In the concluding moments of the night, the audience swayed to the music by the DJ and the happiness that reflected from them definitely left the organisers pleased.
This night indeed made loads of memories and bonds that shall be treasured for long.
